Now that we are officially in a new year, many of you are in the mist of tackling some of those resolutions for your health and fitness, relationships, self-care, or finances. While you are doing this, do not forget the importance of having “hope” during your long financial journey. Having “hope” will create the mindset that allows you to do better in order to get better. There will be bumps along the way and when these hurdles come, it is important that you still remain solid and consistent even in the darkest of hour. So, just how does one accomplish this?
First, you must recognize that having the right mindset is the start of it all. If you don’t believe that there is any possibility of change for your finances, then there isn’t. Sometimes, people can’t truly envision themselves as successful because of their upbringing, lack of education, their past failures, or current financial predicament. Look - everybody struggles! Every single person - in some form or fashion! Even the ones you think that are doing well on social media right down to your next-door neighbors more than likely are keeping up appearances. Therefore, don’t be ashamed if in 2022 you were financially hard hit. God has an actual plan for your life; so, don’t ever lose faith.
Second, in addition to having the right mindset, know that you may have to go at it alone. Sometimes, one can get caught up into thinking that they need others to believe in them before they take the first step to move the needle. That is not the case at all. Your past is what shapes you today and there is no need to pursue goals on the basis of anybody else’s validation. You determine that. Therefore, envision yourself getting out of debt, building an emergency fund (even if you are just starting out with $50 a month), being able purchase your first home, obtaining that new higher paying job, or building up your retirement nest egg. Know that the solo road can often at times be the best path!
Therefore, if you are reading this post today and truly desire as well as believe that there is hope for you to achieve your financial goals – then the door of opportunity just opened for you.
Do you see it?
Have hope.
